  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • Studies around the history of women and gender have been occupying an increasingly larger and more solid space in historical research in Brazil since the 1960s. This work seeks to analyze the experiences of women who lived in the northeastern cangaço during the period from 1916 to 1938. For this construction, we sought contributions from authors who analyze this issue, such as Joan Scott (1990), Circe Bittencourt (2004), Durval Muniz (2011), Guacira Lopes Louro (1996), Heleieth Saffiotti (2015), Eric Hobsbawn (2015), Rui Facó (1978), Jörn Rüsen (2001) and José D'Assunção Barros (2020). Bibliographic analysis seeks support to theoretically promote and understand the complexity of the topic, in addition to providing a basis for how this topic appears in documents that focus on education, in addition to suggesting how written and audiovisual sources expand and help in the teaching-learning process which involves teachers and students in basic History teaching. Based on this research path, a didactic proposition was created with suggestions on how to work with women who were part of the cangaço within Elementary II classrooms, since History textbooks generally address this female participation superficially. To this end, the construction of historical knowledge permeates the work with sources, as well as the understanding of a space and moment composed of its own social, political, economic and cultural nuances. Furthermore, it provides more information about the aspects that make up the theme, including the search for female emancipation in society with the transformation of structures that hinder this emancipation.
