SUMMARY:

This proposition integrates the thematic context of rural education, discussing the relationships between education and teaching work in rural schools. attention focuses on how teachers who work in schools in this territory are situated in the world of professional work and professionalism and in the face of the political construction on the category of workers in education, considering the guidelines and challenge for applicability in the performance of teachers in schools in the agrarian reform settlement camp in piauí, relating them to aspects of the profession, especially those related to working conditions, length of service, remuneration, activities performed, among others. the problem to be faced in this study is the following: teachers who work in rural schools in agrarian reform settlement areas in piauí recognize themselves and are recognized as workers in education? the general objective is to analyze data from the experience of teachers who work in rural schools in agrarian reform settlements in piauí about the professional and political-pedagogical work they carry out, considering the challenges of consolidating the condition of workers( ) of education in rural schools. the proposal involves research with a qualitative approach, with fieldwork, through interviews, combined with bibliographic and documentary surveys. two public schools, located in agrarian reform settlements in piauí, will be involved in the research. the semi-structured interviews will involve three teachers who work in each of the two schools participating in the research, with one of the three linked to the school management team. in the construction of the theoretical basis, there are authors such as: frigotto (2000), souza (2018), ornellas and monteiro (2005), antunes and alves (2004), stockmann (2018), lopes and silva (2018), martins; arroyo and augusto (2012), caldart (2002), among others. as a contribution, it is expected that the study will point out ways to support other research and reflection that favor the affirmation and appreciation of rural education professionals through (self) recognition as education workers.
