Performative activities can be important ways of creating place, identity and cohesion within and between people. In these contexts, music, as a sign, can express different social alignments, group ideas or positions towards the world, in addition to the possibility of generating harmony between its performers, making the practice decisive
in the conception of a sense of belonging even with conflicts beyond musical arrangements. The trajectories of music present diversity in terms of its ontology, social, physical and human manifestation, composing – itself – a sensitive space of alterity. Thus, my objective is to understand music as a mobilizer of encounters between people
who experience it as a starting point for social relations in the groups Baile Afrosamurai and Reação do Gueto. The research has a qualitative and quantitative approach, using bibliographic and documentary research. For the field phase, the methodological path is being based on the ethnographic approach and life history, extracting oral testimonies, memories, personal memories, portrayed through narratives and reports, using a field diary, through notes, audio and video recordings. For qualification, three chapters of the dissertation and the scientific/academic production of the master's student will be presented.
