BEING A WAITER IN THE METROPOLIS: MIGRATIONS, WORK AND SOCIAL NETWORKS OF PETER-SEGUNDENSES IN SÃO PAULO (1980-2010)
migration; labour; sociabilty; memories
The perspective of this research is to understand aspects of the migratory phenomenon, from the Northeast region to the Southeast region, but specifically, from Piauí to São Paulo, not only as a process of spatial displacement, driven by the economic bias together with the discourse of droughts and famine, but which also implies a set of social factors, making migrants the agents of this historical process, through the experience of the workers who move.
